Arrest ‘trouble makers’ during Eid ul Fitr celebrations – Chief Imam

The National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Shaributu has charged the police to arrest and prosecute any person or group of persons who may foment trouble during the Eid ul Fitr celebration.

He has also cautioned Muslim leaders and chiefs not to intercede on behalf of any individual, whose conduct goes contrary to the law, warning that failing to punish wrong doers would embolden them to repeat the infractions.

The Chief Imam who gave the warning through his special aide, Sheikh Armiyao Shuaib, in a special message to muslims ahead of the Eid ul Fitr celebration said Muslims particularly the youth must celebrate in moderation.

He expressed worry over reckless motor riding by some Muslim youth, adding that the celebration does not permit any one to break the law.
