Aregbesola charges new APC stakeholders to be good ambassadors

OSOGBO—Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State has charged the newly constituted stakeholders councils across the 30 local governments and Modakeke area office by the All Progressives Congress, to be good ambassadors of the party.

Aregbesola said this during the inauguration of the committees at the party secretariat , on Monday in Osogbo.

He said: “The elders’ council are expected to educate and enlighten party members at their various wards and local governments on party policies and good governance.”

According to him, the council is expected to brainstorm on pertinent issues relating to party affairs and election matters.
The governor charged the council of elders to checkmate any anti party policy that might dent the image of the progressives at the grassroots.

He said: “The government would create an enabling environment towards harmonious relationship with the stakeholders council.

“The government will continue to work harmoniously with the party stakeholders council by creating a good enabling environment,” Aregbesola said.
Aregbesola also called on party faithful present at the ocassion to support the government in paying their taxes for the growth of the state.

He urged them to pray for the APC led Federal and State government across the country, especially in the present dwindling economy.

Earlier, Mr Gboyega Famodun, the chairman of the party, said the stakeholders councils were constituted, to allow stakeholders in the party , contribute their quota to the growth of the party and the state.

Famodun said, “ The party will work harmoniously with the newly constituted stakeholders councils, to paddle the affairs of the party and also avoid any anti party activities.”

He said, the council are expected to meet once in a month, for pertinent matters relating to the party’s affairs.

“They are to meet once in a month at their respective local governments to brainstorm on issues affecting the party except otherwise.”, Famodun said.

“Also, the party stakeholders council meeting would be held once in every three months at the party Secretariat.”, Famodun said

The Speaker of the House of Assembly , RT.Hon. Najeem Salam, called on the newly constituted council members, to orientate their objects at their respective local governments level, on the need for good governance.

Salam said, the party members must joined in the crusade against any form of anti-party affairs ,and urged to continue supporting the APC led government at all levels of governance.

Mr Dayo Oyebanji, the Executive Chairman of Osun Internal Revenue Service who spoke at the inauguration, enlightened the elderly and other party members on the significance of tax payment to the state government.

He said, the government had reduced tax payment per head to N1,500, in order to eased the burden on party members, except otherwise.

“The government has reduced the tax to be paid by every individuals to a minimum of N1,500 except otherwise”,Oyebanji said.

Among prominent personalities at the occasion includes; Sen. Mudashiru Hussein, Sen. Babajide Omoworare, Sen. Adebayo Salami, Rt. Hon. Najeem Salam. Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Engr. Sola Akinwunmi,Mr Adelowo Adebiyi , former APC chairman ,Rear Admiral Adewola Afolahan, formal military administrator of Kebbi State , members of the Osun House of Assembly ,former chairmen, including former commissioners in the state.
