Amenfi West MP John Gyetua laid to rest

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Amenfi West constituency John has been laid to rest in the Western region.

he late Member of Parliament (MP) for Amenfi West in the Western Region, John Gyetuah, whose sudden demise occurred at the 37 Military Hospital a month ago has been laid to rest in his hometown, Asankre-Breman.

Teeming mourners and sympathizers from all walks of life were at the funeral to pay their last respect to the former MP.

Dignitaries including former colleague MPs, and members of Parliament were around to bid farewell to their departed friend.

The General Secretary Johnson Asiedu Nketiah and National Chairman of the NDC Kofi Portuphy and some national and regional executive were at the funeral to mourn with the bereaved family.
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) delegation to the funeral was led by the flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo and Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, John Alan Kyeremanten and some executive of the NPP.
Also present at the funeral were Ministers of State, including the Minister for Energy, Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah and former Education Minister, Lee Ocran.

A thanksgiving service for the spirit of the departed soul will be held on Sunday, December 13, 2015.
Earlier, Minority Leader, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu described late MP who served as a Minister of State at the Presidency as calm but hardworking man who was always focused in whatever he was doing.
Majority Leader, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, on his part said he was shocked when he received the news of the demise of his bosom friend. He desbribed the late Gyetuah as a “typical grassroot politician” who never joked with his work.

The Speaker of Parliament, Edward Doe Adjaho on his part also described the late MP as a decent politician who always spoke with passion on issues concerning his constituency and the Western Region.
“The Hon. Gyetuah is someone who when it comes to issues about the Western Region, you will never get him on your side. He was also concerned about the development of the Western Region. During his days as a Minister of State, he was one person who was always asking his fellow ministers questions about his constituency and the Western Region even though our Standing Orders do not permit that. That tells you how passionate he was on matters concerning the Western Region,” he said.
