AMA pulls down structures at Nkrumah interchange

The Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) has demolished illegal structures at the newly constructed Kwame Nkrumah interchange.

Adjei Sowah, AMA Chief Executive, according to reports directed the task force to demolish all illegal structures.

The taskforce of numbering about 60 disrupted trading activities early Thursday morning as they destroyed unauthorised structures at the interchange.

Some of the affected victims claimed they were given prior notice to quit while other squatters said they did not have enough time to salvage some of their belongings.

However, AMA officials at the site debunked such allegations and said they were informed and given ample time to quit the area before the demolition exercise.
