Credible information available to the Accra Times indicate that the immediate past Ghana Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under the erstwhile National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration, Alhaji Said Sinare is not in the best of health
He is undergoing medical treatment in Egypt, the birth country of his mother, Hajia Souad Rouby Sinare.
When former President John Dramani Mahama met some former Ambassadors and High Commissioners in Accra recently, conspicuously missing was the light skin Rawlings look-alike politician, Alhaji Sinare.
This prompted the investigation team of the Accra Times to seek reasons of his absence from the said meeting, hence, the revelation that he was not actually in the best of health and had to be flown to Egypt by family members and close associates.
The health condition of Alhaji Said Sinare , the founder of Zongo for NDC who combed the length and breadth of the country and spent his energy and resources just to ensure President Mahama garner the needed and expected Muslim votes in the 2016 general elections is said to be stabilized, according to his close associates.
A Muslim Cleric, who is a very good friend of Alhaji Sinare told this paper that the vociferous politician who was once a Member of Parliament for Ayawaso Central was knocked down by the election results, a situation which according to his friends, was unexpected to him (Sinare)
Ambassador Sinare’s Zongo for NDC vehicle which was seen and described as a thorn in the flesh of then opposition New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flag bearer, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo , is alleged to have been targeted by some elements of the elephant family.
It is alleged that after the declaration of the election results, some suspected elements in the governing NPP unusually frequented Alhaji Sinare’s residence and for fear of their lives, the family upon security expert advice, had to be relocated.
When this paper contacted a leading member of the now opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), he said, “I have been told that his life was under threat after the elections but honestly I’m unaware of his sickness. I really wish him well. He is such a pillar of the great NDC party.”
“My friend, Alhaji Sinare’s house epitomizes the true umbrella as many party members mostly Muslims seek shelter and help from any time they are faced with problems. He was a pillar behind the party. When we first went to opposition in 2001, he was more active and supportive. During the eight years of NDC in power, he was also very supportive”, the Muslim Cleric noted.
“Though I’m not an NDC member, I personally followed and observed activities of his founded Zongo for NDC, a vehicle that was fearless in prosecuting the NDC agenda, and I must say Zongo for NDC really wooed a lot of votes for John Mahama in 2016,” he maintained
When one of the sisters was contacted, she declined to comment on the issue.
