Dr Leticia Ofei Awuku, a Director of Clean and Clear Ghana has described the administration of President Akufo-Addo as the most corrupt government that has ever governed the country. The firebrand Chief Executive accused President Akufo-Addo of shielding his corrupt relations. She challenged President Akufo-Addo to showcase his much touted integrity by showing an open investigation of his associates and close relatives who have been mentioned in serial looting of public resources.
Dr Leticia Ofei Awuku said in a bid to further conceal the sleazes of the Akufo-Addo presidency, the Presidency handlers have gagged the confession of some insiders who have started exposing fraud and looting of public resources by close associates including relatives of the President. She challenged President Akufo-Addo to immediately make public the original reports of the Bost, Korle-Bu scandals, The Gabon Pharmaceutical Company, the Ghana Lottery Authority fraud, the Ghana Maritime Authority scandal, the Oslo case, the Cash-for Seat scandal, the Ghc 2.5 billion donation from some foreign and local businessmen and women, the £600,000 cantoment mansion, the $134 million Russia oil deal, the newly acquired Hotels in Malta and Equatorial by a daughter of the President, contracts awarded to a Nigerian cousin of the President’s daughter.
She dared President Akufo-Addo to make public the official report allegedly indicting his presidency on the siphoning of over GHC 900 million in the petroleum sector, including the Ghc 460 million oil sleaze detailed in a leaked memo at GNPC.
Dr Leticia Ofei Awuku said the President should allow an open inquest into the alleged diversion of statutory fund, defence fund including funds meant for purchase of military hardware and welfare of our soldiers to fund his ill fated reelection campaign.
She said, it is unfortunate that President Akufo,Addo who described himself as an incorruptible politician, has allowed the festering of sundry racketeering and abuse of fiscal process in his presidency, a situation she said, casts a long shadow on his acclaimed integrity. According to the C E.O, unless President Akufo,Addo allows open inquest on his relatives and associates involved in alleged treasury looting, he lacks all moral standing to seek reelection by Ghanaians, who have been bearing the brunt of his misrule in the last two years.
She said up till today, Ghanaians are yet to be told the owner of that ultra-Modern pharmaceutical factories in Gabon, Malta and Equatorial Guinea, the DanquahMma account, N&R shopping Plaza in Gabon and the Energy Drink Company contracted by government to supply water and energy drinks at all state functions. She said, as far as she and her organization are concerned, President Akufo-Addo is not fighting corruption. He is hounding and fighting his political opponents. She described the Akufo-Addo government as a government of double-standard.
