Akufo-Addo is having sleepless nights after John Mahama’s Declaration

Direct member of Akufo Addo’s family has revealed to Ghanapoliticsonline.com that, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is having sleepless nights after John Mahama declared his intentions to contest 2020 election .

According to Daily Post top hierarchy of the NPP met deep Sunday night in Accra to discuss what to do next after former President John Mahama declared his intention to heed the call by party supporters to lead them into the 2020 general elections.

The emergency meeting, according to deep throat sources who attended, was called as the first in a series of arranged meetings to strategize how to neutralize the threat the former President poses to their fortunes in the 2020 elections.
It was decided at the meeting that the party’s communicators be told not to react to the declaration until they receive speaking points. Also discussed before the meeting was adjourned was the alternatives available to the NPP if Akufo-Addo decides not to run again against John Mahama and what to do if he decides to run after the failed promises and hardship which are currently haunting the party.
It was also decided that persons perceived to be neutrals but are NPP, especially lecturers, be deployed to grant interviews to radio stations and present the former President as not being a threat to the NPP or not capable of leading the NDC to victory in 2020. The name of Rev. Ernest Owusu Bempah came up as one of the church leaders that could be used to convince Ghanaians that God is against Mahama contesting for the 2020 elections but this was quickly shot down after some at the meeting argued he is not seen as a neutral by Ghanaians and thus would rather present the NPP as panicking if he is deployed on such tangent. Some at the meeting were therefore tasked to come out with names of church leaders who could be used for this purpose before their next meeting.
