Akufo Addo choses “Tonga” Over Party Constitution

The flames in the NPP seem not to quench anytime soon considering the sequel of protracted war existing within the party. The Ablekuma West constituency having inherited “The Girlfriend of the Flagbearer” is not left behind in this war. It is believed that, the incumbent MP, Hon Ursula Owusu-Ekuful has become an unnecesary evil in the constituency due to her ‘flirtatious’ relationship with the thrice defeated flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party. In fact, the desperate attempt by Akufo Addo to get his ‘girlfriend’ Hon Ursula Owusu-Ekuful retain in parliament gave rise to the infamous ‘Affirmative Action’ which was unanimously shot down by leadership of the party.

The last straw that seem to break the camel’s back is a dictatorial attempt by flagbearer Nana Akufo Addo to cajole his “hand picked” and imposed National party executives swallow an unpopular, unloved and an unconstitutional order.ghanapoliticsonline.com

A Press release emanating from the office of the party’s acting General Secretary, a copy of which is available to the Daily Dispatch suggest that, Nana Akufo-Addo has ordered the use of two different albums for the constituency primaries. The properly collated and authentic Register which was used in electing the flagbearer and all executives of the party has a total number of 1200 voters. Where as the fake manufactured register by Ursula Owusu, ‘girlfriend’ of Nana Akufo Addo has 600 imported and unindentified names reflecting the sum total.

Hon Ursula Owusu-Ekuful is set to battle it out with the former Constituency chairman and financier, Theophilus Tettey. It is said that, if this illegally and unwelcome order of Nana Akufo-Addo is allowed to stand, the aspirant Theophilus Tettey will most likely decline to contest the primaries, but will go ahead to announce his decision to contest as an independent candidate
