Akoto Osei, Dan Botwe to face vetting TODAY

The Appointments Committee of Parliament will resume the vetting of ministerial nominees on Monday, January 30, 2017.

So far, thirteen (13) of the 36 nominees, have been vetted with eight (8) already approved.

Nominees who are to be vetted, include the Minister-nominee for Monitoring and Evaluation, Dr. Anthony Akoto Osei; Minister-nominee for Regional Re-organization and Development, Dan Kwaku Botwe; Minister-nominee for Environment, Science and Technology, Prof Frimpong Boateng; and the Minister-nominee for Works and Housing, Samuel Atta Akyea.

The acting Director of Public Affairs at Parliament, Kate Addo, had explained that, the vetting was postponed to enable the house to prepare for the orientation of new MPs over the weekend.

“…When we resumed sitting, we found out that the workload is becoming heavier by the day. There are agencies that we need to attend to, and coupled with that is the fact that, over the weekend, we are going to have an orientation course for members, and all these were coinciding with the vetting schedule, so the committee sat and decided to reschedule its activities so vetting will resume on Monday.”
