Aburi road to be closed for five months

The Ghana Highway Authority has announced the closure of the “south-bound” lane of the Peduase Lodge-Ayi Mensah road for five months.

This is to pave the way for repair works to be executed on the hill along the road.

The road which leads to Aburi has been posing danger to motorist due to the falling of some of the rocks at an alarming rate.

A statement issued by the Highway Authority said the closure will begin Wednesday June 22 to November 19, 2016.

As an alternative, motorists are advised to use the Kitase-Berekum road.

“Motorists are kindly advised to co-operate with the traffic wardens at the Ayi Mensah and Peduase ends of the roads and also follow directional signs that would be placed along the route to ensure safe execution of the works,” the statement said.
