Over 5,000 youth benefit from YEA facility in Central Region

More than Five Thousand 400 youth in the Central Region are said to have benefited from the Youth Employment Agency.

Out of the number over three thousand are females.

These youth are said to have been posted across the region under the various modules including health, education, marine, fire, police and many more.

At a media briefing in Cape Coast Yesterday, the regional director of YEA, Peter Ayaaye, explained the recruitment was made only this year after the restructuring of the Agency which gave it legal backing.

According to him, the Agency is no longer being operated like before when there was no legal backing.

Aside the recruitment, he mentioned Aqua culture that is being under taken in the Central region as flagship project that will employ a number of youth.

So far 62,825 have benefited from the program nationwide.
