The 32nd annual National Farmers Day will be held today, November 4, at Kintampo in the Brong Ahafo Region under the theme “‘Agriculture: A Business Response to Economic Growth”.
The National Farmers Day is commemorated each year to honour farmers and fishers for the roles they play in Ghana’s socio-economic development with the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA) rewarding deserving farmers and fishers with prizes to encourage them.
Though it has usually been celebrated on the first Friday of December since 1988, this year’s edition had to be moved to November as it was supposed to be celebrated on December 2, which is deemed too close to the December 7 polls.
