22-yr old jailed 4 months for circulating nude photos

The Salaga District Court has sentenced a 22 year-old man to four months in prison with hard labour, for his role in the circulation of nude pictures of women on social media. The convict, Yusif Yunuf, was sentenced on his plea under the charge of circulating obscene material. He is believed to have collaborated with an individual named only as Okyere, a nurse at the Salaga Government Hospital.

Two weeks ago, some social media platforms were awash with nude pictures of some women in Salaga. Okyere is believed to have taken the photos of the women without their knowledge while he was having sex with them.

According to the Northern Regional police command, it officers gathered some intelligence on Okyere’s whereabouts but were unable to apprehend him. The police said the convict, Yusif Yunuf, did not take the nude pictures but was the brain behind the circulation of same. “Yusif Yunuf was the brain behind the circulation of some nude pictures that went viral in Salaga some few weeks ago.” The police revealed that Yunuf was arrested and prosecuted after the memory card which had the nude pictures was found on him.
