2016 elections: Gov’t changes timing for next year’s budget presentation

Next year’s budget will not be presented to Parliament in November as has been the practice.

The Finance Ministry is expected to send provisional estimates of the 2017 budget to Parliament in January 2017.

The move has been influenced by the November 7 general elections.

Joy Business understands because of the elections this year the current government is not allowed to present a full budget because of the likelihood of a change in government
